The Penguin

This is a name that I gave to the kid when I first saw him run at the age of 3. He always kept his hands at his side (like the penguin would keep its wings) and ran with his head popped ahead of his body. He never managed to get any pace but he sure looked good. With his curly hair and long lashes he managed to never get punished in school even when he didn't manage to do his homework. Each morning till the age of 7 he woke up as though he was offering his prayers in front of God! He hated Math. What he hated more than Math was me teaching it to him!

Today he is tall and runs nothing like a penguin. He probably can crush me with one punch if he wanted to. Sleeps shorter hours than I ever have. Still hates Math but is still interested in getting a degree in commerce and management. He still manages to keep out of trouble in school with his eyes and changing hairstyles. Even at this age he has the maturity that I don't have despite being older to him by a decade.

But he is still that eye-batting-sweet-looking Penguin of mine! Love ya!

Long time no blog

Just this morning I realized that I need to express myself either in writing or orally. But the minutes on my cell seem to be rapidly vanishing so I thought writing sounds fine!!
So I shall start out by wishing everyone "A very happy new year". Yeah quite late I know but didn't you read the title of this blog? I have just gotten out of the "blog hibernation mode" and hope that the cold and snow does not force me to go back into the mode again. So where was I? Oh ya... the new year wishes.... hope you guys have a great year ahead (and wish you all the other pleasant messages you might have got in the new year cards). Talking about new year, can we miss out the 'thought' of resolutions? Well I call it a thought coz that is what it is right? I mean how many of you have really counted your calories starting this Jan 1st or really stuck to that crazy schedule you thought would make your life amazingly fantastic? I tried not to make any resolutions myself those but then thought that the thought of it would help.

So here are my thoughtful resolutions:
1. Keep in touch with friends (a little more)
2. Stop worrying about problems that may never occur (atleast a little less)
3. Improve your confidence (start somewhere!)
4. Develop a new skill (how about Tai-Chi?)
5. Move to a warmer place (India sounds good)
6. Reduce your thoughts on the net and increase time in the real life (Did I create another blog account?)

Well the list does not stop there but those were a few on the top of my mind. Have I managed to implement any of these? I am processing that one as yet. So hope to have a better year ahead.
Ending on that note. Have a great day!
